Description The spinal hyperalgesia on more or less severe lesional grounds constitutes a major obstacle to the practice of various tests of basic mobility and to the application of a number of manipulation techniques. The « Colot methodology » or « technique of the acute » constitutes a diagnostic approach and manual therapy of the spinal pains in the acute phase. This methodology applies mainly to acute radiculalgias associated with rachialgias. This method, which only target is the pain, aims to alleviate the painful symptomatology linked i.a. to the inflammatory state, without taking into account the dysfunctional parameter. It safety and speed of action are its major asset. It is especially effective in the context of radiculalgia, lumbagos, dorsalgos or torticollis, which are subject to a relative contraindication for manipulation. The integration of the « Colot method » in the professional practice will be specific to each osteopath and is not part of the proposed method. Content and specificities At the end of the training, participants will have acquired a method which will allow them to relieve patients in situations of hyper spinal pains. Objectives and skills developed This training is organised around 3 axis:
Method and course material The theoretical presentations will be illustrated thanks to power point and videos. They will integrate the Colot concept in various clinical situations. The participants will carry out clinical examinations as well as apply the « Colot » techniques during practical exercise sessions. Practical information Trainers: Thierry Colot.
